Parent/Guardian Volunteer Opportunities
Parents are encouraged to volunteer and contribute to the team in a capacity that suits them. Not all volunteers need to be at all the meetings. Parents will be encouraged to support the team in one of the following roles.
Parent Volunteer Roles Needed:
Competition & Saturday Sessions Lunch Coordinator
This person will be responsible for coordinating team lunches, signups, and collect payment (if applicable) for Saturday sessions and competition lunches.
Competition Snacks and Drinks Coordinator
This person will be responsible for coordinating team snacks and drinks and signups for competitions.
Fundraising Coordinator
This person(s) will be responsible for overseeing the student(s) responsible for setting up and coordinating team fundraisers chosen by team.
Team Building Coordinator
This person will be responsible for setting up and coordinating social and/or fun team building activities (about 3 per season).
Volunteer Coordinator
This person will be responsible for overseeing the student(s) that are coordinating volunteers for fundraisers (if needed) and 1 parent volunteer per competition.
Judges Presentation Mentor
This person will be responsible for assisting the coaches in preparing the team for the judges presentation and pit interviews. This person will need to be available at least one day per week from mid‑September to mid‑December/End of April (depending on how far the team advances).
STEM Connections / Outreach Coordinator
This person will be responsible for assisting the coaches in coordinating ways for the team to connect with STEEAM (science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, arts, mathematics) industries. Examples are setting up tours at local STEEAM companies, coordinating guest STEEAM speakers for team practices and community outreach opportunities. Also work with Sponsorship Coordinator to foster new sponsor relationships and donations to The Robotics Program.
Sponsor Coordinator
This person will be responsible for overseeing the student(s) that are contacting and setting up team presentations to potential sponsors and maintain current relationships with existing sponsors and STEM companies that support The Robotics Program.
Thank You Coordinator
This person will be responsible for overseeing the student(s) that are sending one or more of either thank you cards, letters, certificate of appreciation, plaque, team swag and/or team photo to people and/or companies as they help the team through grants/sponsorships, robot part(s), in-kind or monetary donations, tours, etc.
Pit Display Coordinator
This person will be responsible for assisting the team in creating, coordinating, and setting up a team pit display at each competition.
Print Media and Swag Mentor & Coordinator
This person will be responsible for assisting the team in creating a team business card and/or team brochure/flyer to be distributed at competitions to other teams. The team will make team buttons for each competition to distribute to other team members. This person will also be responsible for coordinating and making sure the team has enough buttons, business cards, and brochures/flyers for each competition.
Team Photographer/Videographer Mentor
This person will assist the team and overseeing the student(s) that are taking photos and videos at team meetings, events, competitions, etc. and uploading them to the team’s Google drive. These photos will also be used for team’s social media. This person will need to be at MOST team functions, or have the ability to coordinate photographers/videographers for MOST team functions.
CAD mentor
This person will be responsible for teaching & assisting team members and coaches in utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Drawing) for the robot.
CNC/Machining & 3D Printing Mentor
This person will be responsible for teaching & assisting team members and coaches in using CNC (Computer Numeric Control) to machine/produce, and/or 3D print parts for the robot. (CNC will work closely with CAD)
Programming Mentor
This person will be responsible for teaching & assisting team members and coaches in programming the robot. JAVA is used to program the robot.
Robot Assembly Mentor
This person will be responsible for teaching & assisting team members and coaches in building the robot.
Trailer Driver
This person will be responsible for transporting the team trailer to team build sessions or competitions.
Media Release – WAIVER AND IMAGE RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By agreeing to this membership application you give The Robotics Program, its coaches, mentors, volunteers, and members the right to use mine and my child’s first name, picture, portrait, image, video and/or photograph in all forms and manners of media including: composite, season documentation, the engineering notebook/portfolio, social media posts and the program website found at enigmarobotics.org, enigmaftc.com, enigmafrc.com, astrovikings.org, or applieddynamicsinitiative.org. NOTE: This is a requirement at all FIRST Inspires events and competitions.
Parent/Legal Guardian Permission for Medical Treatment
As the parent/guardian of the aforementioned child, I hereby give permission for the aforementioned child to participate in the activities of The ENIGMA FTC Program. The parent/guardian is reminded that every reasonable precaution will be taken to provide for the safety and care of the child. In the event of an accident, which requires emergency care, every effort will be given to notify the parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian cannot be contacted in the event of an accident or illness, permission is hereby granted to the coaches/mentors to authorize any necessary hospitalization or medical treatment recommended by professional medical personnel to be in the best interest of the aforementioned child. (A copy of this permission will be kept on file with The ENIGMA FTC Program.) The parent/guardian hereby assumes financial responsibility for hospitalization and/or medical treatments provided.
Parent/Legal Guardian Agrees and Signs
Before signing up your child to The Robotics Program please review the following checklist:
ALBUQUERQUE FTC ENIGMA 16265 “Registration Fee”: $200 per team member ‑ Non‑Refundable after mid September FTC Kick Off Event. NOTE: Please make any checks payable to ENIGMA or APPLIED DYNAMICS INITIATIVE – Each family is required to pay the “Registration Fee” per student joining. The “Registration Fee” can be waived in the case of financial hardship. Use the attached form and submit to the ADI Board for approval.
Each team member is required to participate in raising money with the team through sponsorship acquisition, grants, donations, and/or other fundraising methods. Leads and open doors leading to team presentations when donations and sponsorships are greatly appreciated.
